Charlie Gray, also known as Inafekt, is a 25-year-old DJ and producer hailing from Liverpool. He began his
DJing journey as a resident for a friend's club night in his hometown, where he quickly found his stride
behind the decks. In 2020, he took a significant step forward with the release of his debut record on Alan
Fitzpatrick’s label, marking the beginning of his musical odyssey.
Originally starting out as a techno artist, his sonic palette has expanded over the years, weaving those
early influences of techno with elements of house, hard house, disco, and beyond. It’s not about modern
trends for him; rather, it’s about crafting a unique expression that resonates with both the past and
present.
Charlie's live performances always stand out, characterised by his own productions and elusive vinyl
gems ripped onto digital format. This approach not only highlights his digging capabilities but also
complements his own music. He thrives on creating moments of connection with the crowd. This
commitment to fostering genuine experiences reflects his belief in the raw energy of club culture,
allowing for a deeper interaction between artist and audience.
Charlie’s dedication has taken him to stages all across the globe, highlighted by a recent tour in
Australia. He has shared his sound in some of the UK’s most standout venues, and the past year has
sparked a rise in European recognition, showcasing his talent in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and
Spain.
With his sound resonating in the right circles, Charlie has earned support from some of the industry’s
finest, including Peggy Gou, Job Jobse, Palms Trax, DJ Heartstring, and many more. His recent signings
with credible labels like Agrio, Correspondant, and Bebé, alongside releases on major labels such as
Columbia and Ministry of Sound, highlight his ability to navigate the fine line between underground
authenticity and commercial appeal.
